Excursion Down The Rio Dulce River

Currently, I am sitting on the dock in Rio Dulce at the backpackers inn directly by the cooling river. Last night we spent at Finca Tatin in the jungle with hammocks and all. Yesterday we took a hike in the jungle to a waterfall and saw a beetle that looked like actual metal. There are so many quick little red crabs in the jungle it's crazy! Yes, crabs...in the jungle. We took kayaks to some hot springs down near the river. I really don't like the smell of sulphur, rotten eggs-yucky! Mom's arms are pretty sore from that two and a half hours of paddling. Then when it became dark we swung in addicting hammocks and rattled on in conversation and fun with two sweet girls, named Varenna and Lydia, from Germany. We played snaps and the coin game and traded riddles. I now have an interest in learning German after learning a short little bit from Varenna and Lydia. We learned the phrase, "How are you?" - "Wie gehts dir?" And "Oh I feel splendid." - "Mir geht es blended." Dinner last night was superrrrr yummy... Well at least the appetizer. Tomorrow we will be volunteering at the orphanage Casa Guatemala by helping with some activities. So, good bye for now... I am sorry for the long wait.
